A Question about JPY

Published on Monday January 30th, 2012 at 02:19PM by HarryPilgrim

My fellow pipsters,

Would anyone care to suggest an approach to the yen? I don't normally trade it and frankly I could do with a confidence booster.

I notice that USDJPY is at previous intervention levels and that CADJPY has escaped out the high side of it's long term wedge.

I am most tempted to get in long on one of these pairs before the Japanese authorities do. Is this a good idea or would the thinking pipster be better advised to fade the resulting spike? This latter was the better bet on the previous occasions. What is the long term outlook for the yen?

With EURCHF coincidentally approaching the F1.20 intervention level I feel like we are sailing through an officially laid minefield. Map and tin hat needed please!

Pip! Pip!
