I have decided to strive towards growing my account balance by 6-10% monthly. right now i am doing fine with 10%. Here is how i planned it out. Lets say you have an account balance of 2,000. There are 12 months in a year. write it out:Starting Balance: 2,000 -multiply by .10 each month- January: 2,200 February: 2,420 March: 2,662 April: 2,928 May: 3,220 June: 3,542 July: 3,896 August: 4,285 September: 4,713 October: 5,184 November: 5,702 December: 6,272 so say January ends, you should have 2,420 or more in your account. and so on for the following months.NOTE: This might make you want to take trades that are not according to your strategy/rules, be careful.if your looking for a quick way of calculating straight to December. just multiply your starting balance by 3.12 and you should get a fairly accurate number. (Note i did not round in my example)2,000 x 3.12 = 6,240 I feel planning/goal setting is a very important aspect of trading, this way you know what you are striving for and where you are heading! Have a good one, Eli

I totally agreed. Compound is very powerful, of course we all have a goal to meet in our life. By splitting it up into realistic sections, each we meet our goal, the sense of achievement can have a positive effect in our trading. Some of you might have read it in paper in recent years which this is called " The testosterone effect".A suggestion for traders who uses this approach, is that ones should always reduce the position size once target is met or after a big win. In my view this would prolong those winning hormone and calm those excitement in the mind, which helps clear the cloud when we analyse the data and info in our mind.Pips out Tactician
