I have traded on and off for a while now. I never really got into a rythem with my trading and I would lose interest after losing trades. Well I am back again. I have been back at trading for a month now. I still had a little money left in my trading account. I had planned on getting back to trading sooner than I actually did. When I finally committed back to it; I opened some charts and just watched the market for a few days. I stripped off all the indicators.
The market looks different then it did before. One of things that has made the most difference in my trading is FXCM's live courses. I am not sure why I didn't attend those prevously but they are making a difference in my trading.
I have been back at it for almost a month and earned close to 400 pips which is alot better than I ever did before. I have made some mistakes some mistakes over and over and I kick myself everytime. My biggest mistakes are always because of emotions. Last week I had a trade setup and was in a rush to leave the office, I went long on a pair instead of short (buy is chosen by default). That mistake cost me 40 pips by the time I noticed it. Wanting to make my pips back I hurried into the next trade and you got it, it was a loser. I knew what I had done and kept myself out of trades for two days.
As I start the second month of trading I would like to see fewer mistakes. I know I will have some losing trades thats expected. The mistakes are what cost me the most pips not legitament losing trades. Of course the mistakes turn into losers but if it weren't for the mistakes I wouldn't have taken some of the losing trades I did last month.
I came back to meetpips expecting the pip count and trading logs to still be here. I was originally just going to look through some of my old trades. Not sure what happened to it but seems like meetpips is just a blog and community now with no way to look back on previous trades. I have been google searching for trade journal software but have found anything in my price range thats appealing. If anyone knows of something worth looking at let me know. I have seen where others have used excel to journal trades but I would like something a little more detailed than that. Maybe I can throw something together with access that works.
