Jaco’s trading plan
General rules:
1. Never risk more than 3% on any one trade, and never more than 9% of all positions in the market.
2. Stop trading after losing more than 5% of account on the day and go back to paper trading to review trading plan if 10% of account is lost.
3. Never trade more than 2 crosses containing the same currency, accept with USD where 3 correlated USD pairs can be traded.
4. Never enter trade on days where mayor market news is being announced.
5. Never trade on holidays, trades can be managed if already open.
6. Never have an opinion of the market or let opinions influence your setups.
7. Always document trade from setup to end with trade setup work sheet.
8. Always use limit order with preset stop order to enter trades, only enter trades in the market if closed 1hour bar confirms minimum conditions.
9. Never exit trade manually.
Trade setups:
1. Objective minimum trade setup conditions. I will use the Dynamic trend oscillator in a duel time frame momentum setup to filter and select potential trades objectively.
2. Non-objective setup conditions. I will use Fibonacci ratios to identify mayor areas of price resistance. Along with Pattern, price and time position considerations, I will identify high probability setups with minimal exposure of capital.
3. Objective entry strategy. Once conditions for trade is met I will use 1 BAR Low or High, Trade below or above minor swing high/low or 34EMA to trigger trade objectively.
Money management:
• Position size. Calculate number of mini lots to never risk more than 3% in any one trade. Always enter with at least 2 positions.
• Initial stop-loss orders. Should be placed immediately on entering the trade to predefine the exact amount of risk on any trade.
• Trailing stops. Trail 1st position on 1hour chart after DTOSC reversal or until 100 pip profit target reached.
• Trade targets and exit strategies for other positions. Trail the stop on the 2nd position after it has reached 100% price extension by 1BAR high/low. Look for DTOSC reversal on larger time frame.
