Missed Trade: Fiber Retest (03/04/10)

I had quite a full day yesterday so I wasn't able to spend enough time studying the charts during the start of the London session. By the time I tuned in, the US session was already underway and I noticed that I already missed some good trades. One of these (that I probably would've taken) is the EURUSD's retest of the resistance near the psychological 1.3700 handle. Notice that the pair already broke above this level previously. However, it dropped back down and dipped to the pair's bottom daily ATR. Upon rebounding, it retested the 1.3700 resistance and proceeded to break below the ATR. I could've played the retest and took profits off the ATR and/or the psychological 1.3600 mark.

Although the ECB made no changes to their monetary policy, weak economic reports rendered the higher-yielding EUR weaker against the safe-haven USD. The labor indicators and the pending home sales report released yesterday all came in very much weaker than expected, forcing investors to flee back to less risky assets.

I almost took this one, but weren't too sure about it. If I looked drawn it in from bigger chart, I wouldn't of hesitated. So you are not the only one who missed out on this one.Next time.
